Meet Kirby. He is a 9 month old male hedgehog. He's a little shy at first, but once he gets to know you, he's very friendly. He has been living in a foster home with young children and has got along great. He is also used to the presence of cats and dogs. Kirby enjoys his cat food, but absolutely loves meal worms and likes to forage for them in his snuffle mat. Hedgies are nocturnal animals who sleep all day and become active at night. Kirby typically wakes up around midnight and goes back to sleep around 7-8am. He spends most of the night running on his wheel. He needs to be kept warm and have regular baths, which although they aren't his favourite, he tolerates. Hedgies are very sensitive to strong smells and it's important not to use air fresheners in the same room. Because they are prone to dry skin, a humidifier is recommemded.
