My Story

Meet Willie (named after country music outlaw Willie Nelson ?). While this Willie prefers for his grass to be called Timothy instead of Mary Jane, he does have the laid back, cool vibe of his namesake. This sweet boy was understandably very scared when he arrived. He and another rabbit (Waylon) had been dumped at Sesquicentennial State Park in Columbia with a bowl of food and water. And it was obvious they had not been well taken care of previously. Since then, Willie has warmed up a lot, and he shows his appreciation for head scratches with lots of bunny purrs. He also loves to give lots of bunny kisses! He is progressing well with his litter box training and we expect that will improve even more once he is neutered. Willie also has a smaller right eye. Whether it is from an old injury or congenital, the vet has confirmed it is not an issue. And while he has little to no vision in that eye, it doesn’t slow him down. In fact, it gives him a charming, winking look that has earned him the nickname Winky Willie! Willie is vaccinated against RHDV (yearly boosters needed) and is scheduled to be neutered the first week in August.
