Poe

My name is Poe, like Edgar Allen, but I’m just Poe. I’m a bit older than most of my friends here at the rescue. I’d call myself middle aged. I had a home before but they decided they didn’t want me and left me under a church sign near a busy road. I was scared and my ears hurt so bad. They were itchy and my family wouldn’t help me. Thankfully, a kind lady saw me and contacted the rescue. She helped the rescue catch me. I wasn’t hard to catch. I was scared and it was hot outside so I didn’t have much fight in me. It’s a good thing I was rescued that night because there was lots of storms coming. At the rescue, they checked my ears during my intake exam and they said I had ear mites. I guess the mites were really bad because I also had a really bad ear infection because of them. I was on medicine for several weeks but they’re finally all better now!
