Pepper & Cricket

Please meet bonded sisters, Pepper & Cricket! To watch Pepper & Cricket attack life with such joy and gusto, you'd never know how bad they once had it. These girls -- (we call them ``the Floofs'' for their soft fluffy fur, which makes them look and feel like a pair of cozy slippers) -- were acquired as babies by a homeless woman. The young woman loved them dearly, but she was in and out of shelters and spent most of her time on the streets, so Pepper & Cricket lived in a cage perched on top of a shopping cart. They were exposed to the elements, including extreme heat and cold, didn't get proper nutrition and, perhaps most depressing of all, they lacked the space to roam and play. When their mother saw Pepper & Cricket starting to decline, she realized she could not take optimal care of them, so she called Bunny World Foundation and reluctantly agreed to surrender them for their own good. We got them spayed and nursed them back to health in no time, and you should see them now. They spend their days alternating between zooming around like road runners and plopping their fluffy selves next to each other when they get tuckered out. These special angels LOVE people too: They never fail to run over and nudge us to say a friendly ``Hello'' when we climb in to straighten up their living area: It's the most adorable and endearing quality we've seen. Pepper is hilarious and spunky with her sister at times, and Cricket is the more laid-back of the two and provides Pepper with the peacefulness to be lavished with loving head pets when she's by Cricket's side – as that is her happy place! In short, Pepper & Cricket are every bit as precious and lovely on the inside as they are to look at, and we can gaze at them all day. These firmly bonded sisters are two-hearts-as-one; utterly overflowing with love for each other and life itself.
