My Story

Recently our team rescued Darby. During a large drug bust, police discovered several dozen bunnies in various stages of neglect. All were crammed into little cages scattered throughout the trap house. Filthy and abhorrent don’t even begin to cover the dismal situation these bunnies had been living in. Working together with multiple rescues, every single bunny was brought to safety. Our rescue was full, but managed to work in 5 bunnies from the case. Darby was immediately dewormed, treated for bloody sore hocks, and was spayed. Our team has been working really hard on socialization with Darby, as she didn’t have much human interaction prior to intake. When she gets stressed out, she exhibits excessive scanning behavior. And people used to stress her out terribly. Thankfully, after weeks of gentle and patient work by her foster family, this behavior has nearly completely stopped. She is remarkably friendly and social. Would love a friend! Her foster mom says, “Darby is the sweetest and softest bun you’ll ever meet! She is a rex with gorgeous red eyes. She has short little curly whiskers! She is excellent with her litter box skills and just likes a quiet place to snooze in the afternoon for her naps!” If you’d like to adopt Darby, click here: https://forms.gle/xatrAFuJh65GYqTG9
