Zwei

Meet Zwei, a young boy, who is a medium size lab mix. He came to us late last year very fearful and has not been socialized at all with humans. Staff workers and volunteers have constantly been working with him to regain human trust and he is slowly responding, He is scared to be touched but, if you go slowly, he will allow a soft rub under his jaw or on his back. He has never given the impression that he would ever bite. He does seem to be a gentle soul-just scared. He will just shrink to the ground. He likes to go outside to use the potty but is fearful of the wide-open spaces, so he sometimes rushes to get back into his kennel where he feels safe. Since he is so young, he can be totally rehabilitated and acclimated into a loving home. But, because he is so fearful of everything, his new home would have to a chill household. No young kids and rowdy fur-siblings. Although he responds positive to other dogs, aggressive or alpha dogs will scare him. His new parents would have to have a gentle hand and voice,.... and loads of patience to bring him out of his negative and fearful past. They will have to understand his history of isolation and slowly introduce him to new experiences and the joy of loving a human. Will you be that person? Are you up for the challenge?
