My Story
Zucchini now Lexi has found a famly that appreciates her for all that she is. An animal-loving family who adopted one of the maremma x pups (Alexie aka Piper) from Bully Buddies a year ago has taken Lexi home. About a year ago Piper joined their family including 2 other dogs (GSD and GSD x ), 2 horses, ferrets, cats, hamster, kids, etc. Basically a total menagerie of animals. Well one of their daughters just graduated and moved to Idaho to take an equine management program, taking with her, Tasha the big-eared, much loved GSD, a cat, a ferret, and the two horses. So apparently their house is feeling slightly empty! Lexi has officially come to their rescue, playing up a storm with Piper and one of their cats, and enjoying cuddle time with their other dog Tasha... and she is impressing the humans to boot!
Hi there, my name is Zucchini aka Zuc. I was brought into the shelter as a "stray" by some folks who acted much more like parents. Regardless I worked my charm, showed off my ears, and hung off the pant legs of one of the shelter employees and she decided it was a great idea to bring me home. I know that I'm not a pit bull, but she works with pit bull rescue so here I am, a very fuzzy, pointy-nose dog.
I like to get into trouble but she says that this is pretty normal for puppies. I came to the shelter with lots of different kinds of sticky gook in my coat, and I pooed out some tinfoil just to give a hint of the good times to come.
From my teeth they think that I'm about 9 weeks old, and boy am I big! I'm going to be quite large when I'm all grown up. Because I'm so feisty and smart they say that I need a GSD experienced home. To a place where someone is home more often than not as I'm too young to be left alone for more than a few hours. Somewhere with no small humans (noone under 16 years) as I'm mouthy and also see myself as food possessive with other people. I've already learned that this gets me nowhere with my foster mom, but I need my new folks to continue to work on this, in order from preventing it from becoming a future problem.
I love to play with other dogs, so far am sleeping through the night in the crate, I know how to sit, and am learning shake a paw. I've also figured out the basics of fetch, and doing an automatic sit when I want the toy thrown for me (see I really am smart!). My foster mom thinks that I'm FULL of potential, and am going to get swept up by some fantastic GSD loving folks. Think you are the ones?
