My Story

Zoe is a happy, affectionate, sweet and beautiful, nine-year-old, 74-pound, purebred female Doberman Pinscher with natural ears and a cropped tail looking for a loving guardian. Zoe will turn ten years old on September 28th. Zoe is a gentle and wonderful girl with people of all ages and she loves children. She gets along beautifully with other dogs (although she can be barky from across the street). When I walk her in my neighborhood, I’m surprised at how many people come over to pet her. She exudes kindness and a gentle nature. She also has a strong prey drive and can sniff out bunnies, rats, and squirrels everywhere she goes! Zoe was adopted six years ago to a mature Doberman-loving couple. Sadly, her human dad died, and her mom is now in the hospital. So, Zoe needs to find another home to enjoy her golden years. They loved her and spoiled her. She’s gained 10 pounds in six years and her favorite treat, (and perhaps theirs?) was nutterbutter cookies. When she was younger, she dug holes and hunted in my yard. Now, I take her for walks which she loves. She is housebroken and well-mannered in the home. She loves to curl up on the couch or in bed with her humans. She enjoys a game of ball or chewing on her toys. She's not a retriever, so don't expect her to bring a ball back! She has lived as an indoor, much-loved and pampered dog all her life. I originally took her into the rescue in October of 2018 when her family moved to a no-pets apartment. She loves a house with a yard, but she walks just fine on leash. However, she can be strong and stubborn at times. She is healthy, spayed, vaccinated, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. Her adoption fee of $175 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Petraits Rescue. If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting oey, please fill in an adoption application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/dog-adoption-application/ and follow up by contacting [email protected] to make an appointment to meet her. She is being fostered in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood.
