Sweet old lady Zeva was brought to us under unfortunate circumstances with an Animal Control Officer needing to take her from the home after her owner was arrested. Staff was able to get ahold of a former owner, who had not had Zeva in five years but said that when Zeva was in her care she was a farm dog who got along well with other dogs, cats, and kids. The previous owner said Zeva did have some prey drive and loved to hunt for moles and rats, and that she rode very well in the car. Though that information is from a while back, it seems that Zeva still has many of those wonderful traits, and we look forward to learning more about this lovely senior lady! Zeva is current on shots, licensed, and microchipped. All dogs over 6 months have been heartworm tested, and all dogs are treated monthly for fleas/ticks and are on Heartworm prevention (NexGard PLUS). All pets are spayed/neutered prior to a finalized adoption. All our dogs receive a behavior assessment before being placed for adoption to determine initial behaviors towards people and other dogs in the shelter environment.
