My Story

Meet Zera, a Great Pyrenees girl whose sweet and loving personality is sure to steal your heart! This beautiful young Pyr has a classic look with a medium-long, soft white coat. She loves going for walks on a leash, taking in all the new sights and smells. Zera is also crate-trained and happily naps or retreats to her crate when she needs some quiet time. She knows basic commands like “sit” and “come.” This energetic pup loves playtime outside, zooming around with her doggy friends before crashing for an afternoon nap to recharge. Zera has not been cat-tested yet, but gets along well with male dogs and most females. She can be selective about new people at first but warms up quickly, especially in familiar environments. Despite her size, Zera is an affectionate lapdog at heart who loves snuggling, giving kisses, and having her chest rubbed. She can be silly and mischievous at times, stealing household items just to show them off and play keep-away. Zera would likely do best with another dog companion to help build her confidence, though she loves lavishing attention on her human family too. Her ideal home is in a quieter environment with a safe 6ft fenced yard. Could you provide the active lifestyle, doggy friend, and plenty of snuggles that this sweet younger Pyr craves? Open your heart to Zera, and she'll return your love and patience tenfold as a devoted, goofy companion. NYS Registered Rescue # RR102 NGPR dogs are in foster homes at the location specified on their full listing. View the full listing (with location, fee and application link) at HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTABLE-DOGS Completion of an application is required to be considered for any dog. Please fill out the application on our website and we will contact you. HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
