Zena/Jewel

Meet Ms Zena! Zena is an 18 month old giant schnauzer who has had a kind of hard life so far. She has been in three homes and other than being a typical young giant who thinks she can run the world, she is a sweetheart! She has learned a few commands and needs some work on walking on a leash. She is very thin and needs to gain some weight. But she has a good appetite. She gets along with kids of all sizes, adults, other dogs but probably not with small animals such as cats. She is use to being around horses on a ranch environment. She is black with natural ears and a great personality. She is demanding of attention but that is probably because she hasn't had much attention. Exercise will help her build up her muscles and strength and stamina. She rides well in a car and slept most of the way into Phoenix from her three hour car ride. She lived with three other male dogs, one larger than she is, and wanted them to know she was the boss, but did not hurt them in anyway. In fact, she protected them from a nasty neighbor dog. She alpha rolled the other dog who had attacked the three Zena lived with. Did not hurt the other dog at all, but let him know with noise that he was not welcome at her house if that is the way he was going to behave. He hadn't been back since. Zena is desperately in need of lots of love and training. She wants so much to please but just hasn't been taught how to do that...yet.
