My Story

Video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ub585PxDQaY Zed is a super cute and stunning boy. He is about 3 months old and looks to be a lab mix, maybe mixed with some kind of hound. Whatever he is, he is adorable and has a coat that sometimes looks more blue and other times more cappuccino colored. He also has white feet and 4 black stripes that are subtle but visible that form bands across his back from his shoulders down to his butt. Pictures don't really do him justice. He is also super sweet and has been great with dogs of all sizes, including puppies that are smaller than he is as well as with cats. He found himself at small rural shelter with his brother where he was slated to be put down because there are just too many puppies looking for homes and the shelter doesn't have any foot traffic. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue/reviews Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Seattle/Tacoma) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Illinois (Vandalia) - Indiana (Spiceland) - Ohio (Columbus) - Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection. Too young for a heartworm test. Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Optional extra: All dogs must be kept on heartworm prevention for at least 6 months following transport because of the heartworm development cycle to kill any larvae that might present and do not show up on a heartworm test (thus puppies under 6 months don't even get tested). This is a monthly pill and he will have been given one close to transport. However, there is also the option to give a one time shot that lasts an entire year. This shot costs $150-$170 (based on weight) and is NOT included in the adoption fee but can be added if you choose to. This an added option for those who do not want to have to go to a vet within a month of arrival to get a prescription for the monthly heartworm prevention.
