Meet Yogi Meet Yogi, our delightful 2-year-old, 26 lb Dachshund mix who's ready to charm his way into your heart! Yogi is a super sweet boy who obviously came from a loving home. He’s got the basics down pat—he can sit, shake "paw," and is fully housebroken. Yogi loves to be with you all the time and can’t resist a good tummy rub. His favorite pastimes include looking out the window and playing with his beloved squeaky toys. At night, he’s a perfect bed companion, sleeping through the night without a fuss. He’s proven to be gentle with children and has even won over the neighborhood kids. This affectionate pup just wants to be loved and will thrive in a home where he’s showered with attention. Yogi has had a bit of a rough patch, having been captured by animal control and spending nearly two months in a shelter. This has left him a bit wary of uniforms, but he’s improving—especially when treats are involved! With the UPS man and the vet, a few treats were all it took for him to calm down and trust them. Currently, Yogi is still working on his interactions with other dogs and men, so he would do best as the only dog in a home. He barks at cats and will pull on the leash during walks, but using a harness has helped reduce his struggle. Yogi has medium energy levels—he enjoys short walks but isn’t keen on long walks, especially in the heat. He’s quite content lounging around the house and would be perfect for a less active family who can take him on a couple of short walks a day. This little guy is free to roam the house when his foster family is away and has shown no destructive tendencies. Despite his shelter experience, he should be fine with crate training if needed. He hasn’t shown any digging behavior in the small yard available to him. Yogi would thrive with a single lady or a family who can spend lots of quality time with him, even if it’s just cuddling on the sofa.
