My Story
She came to us with nothing. Not even a collar. No bed. No toys. No chewies. Nothing. Honey was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Kansas City . The story behind her is sad, but we can tell that at one time, she was loved by her people and, very likely, had children around. Since October, 2009, Honey has lived in a busy household. She has wonderful manners. Honey travels well in a crate, enjoys the attention of a bath, sits still for her nails to be clipped and is not, in any way, aggressive nor does she resource guard. Honey has been exposed to cats and while she shows interest, she isn't predatory. She has delightful manners, walks nicely on leash and always, always sits when she isn't walking with you. One of Honey's most endearing traits is her affection for children. She will spend hours with the foster home's 7 year old son. If the little boy is in the club house, so is Honey. If the little boy is doing homework, Honey is lying on the floor next to his desk. The cutest is the trampoline. Honey jumps on the trampoline with the little boy...and has decided that is where she likes to lay in order to catch some sun. Her striking color, coupled with the pretty blackening on her face and ears, makes her stand out. She enjoys being petted, often leaning into the person and giving a big sigh. She is content. Along the way, Honey has accumulated things. She has lots of toys, and especially likes the kind that squeak. She has chewies, her own bowl and water bucket. A couple of nice fleece beds line her crate. She is warm and safe. What she doesn't have, yet, is a permanent home. She is 5-6 years old and weighs 40 pounds. She is spay, current on all vaccs, microchipped, Heartworm negative; on monthly preventative. If interested please email Cindy at n2tervs@netwurx. net or call 262/642-2286.
