Y_PLUS: Roxie

ROXIE Do you like the look of a German Shepherd or a Husky but would like a smaller dog or don't want to have to deal with all that hair? Roxie may be the dog for you! About 1 1/2 yrs old, Roxie was originally adopted from a shelter as a puppy by a family who weren't willing to put the time into a puppy to transform them from clueless little creatures into the wonderful companions they can become. Add to that scenario the addition of their first human baby, and the dog "had to go"! Lucky for Roxie, ILDR+ was able to take her into their rescue program. Roxie is very social and would do well in a home with a fenced yard so she could safely run and play with a 4-legged family member or a very active family as she has lots of energy. She is housebroken, plays well with other dogs and children but because of her energy level, older children (6 or older) would be best. She likes cats but the chase is far more to her liking; probably not what most cats would prefer. She also needs a family that will commit to continue with her obedience training.
