Xena

Hi, my name is Xena....I am approximately 3 years old and I'm one very lucky girl. I came from a home where I once was loved but since the divorce they seem to have forgotten about me. Actually, they were taking their anger out on me and I am a little chihuahua. A good samaritan rescued me but was unable to take care of me and I was severely malnourished and extremely dehydrated. The good samaritan contacted S.A.F.E. and S.A.F.E. made sure I received the medical attention I needed. When I arrived at the vet, his diagnosis was grim. He gave me some meds and sent me to my new foster home unsure if I would survive. Once at my new foster home, I was given homemade dog food, lots of water and lots and lots of love. I wobbled when I walked but now I have a steady gait. I was only 2 lbs. upon arrival at my new foster home but now I weigh a whopping 6 lbs. and have discovered that food is good! I am a love bug who likes to entertain with my silly antics. I am a watch dog and will scare off any intruder with my bark (okay, they really are not scared but I try). I am searching for someone to give me food, toys, lots of love and a lap. I love to sit in your lap and snuggle with you. If interested in giving Xena the home she deserves, please contact [email protected]. 7/2/10 Update: I am truly a Warrior Princess. I fought for my life and now I am doing great. I went from 2 lbs to 8 lbs in three weeks. Now my foster mom says I am a bit plump but that's OK for now. I love to be held and I love to run circles around the other dogs. My most favorite place is burrowed under blankets in a bed with my human. Everyone says I am the sweetest thing. I love human attention. My happiest time of the day is feeding time. I will run to and dance at my feeding spot. So I will have to have a home that will feed me great food. I would love a dog friend in the house that I can play with and I do need a fenced in back yard. If you have room in your heart for a cute, affectionate, spit fire....I am the one for you. WE FINALIZE EVERY ADOPTION WITH A HOME VISIT THEREFORE POTENTIAL HOMES MUST BE WITHIN A HOURS DRIVE TIME OF CHARLOTTE NC. A FOSTER PET WILL NOT BE SHIPPED TO SOMEONE LIVING OUTSIDE THE ADOPTION AREA NOR WILL ANYONE BE ALLOWED TO COME PICK A PET UP FROM US. YOU MUST BE 21 TO ADOPT FROM OUR GROUP.
