My Story

IF INTERESTED, CONTACT LESLIE AT 805-660-7176 or [email protected] I’m an independent rescuer and am hoping/praying you can help this sweet, affectionate and mellow Momma (no puppies), who loves all people and is gentle and wonderful with kids. The Finder was at a park in Fresno with his family and a couple drove up, took this beautiful girl out of their car, said she had recently given birth, they were able to find homes for her puppies (probably sold them) but couldn’t keep her, then they got into their car and drove off, abandoning her in the park – heartbreaking! She made friends with all the kids, dogs and families in the park. Everyone found her to be adorable and incredibly sweet. The family I’m helping took her home but knew they couldn’t keep her because of their two aggressive dogs and lack of financial means to care for a third dog long term. They tried to take her to the Fresno shelter the next day (not knowing she would likely be euthanized if the shelter had any space), but the shelter is overflowing and not accepting any strays unless they’re injured or dangerous. The shelter said she’s young (~ 3 years old) and appears healthy. They gave her a DA2PP vaccination & told the family they could find a rescue/home for her or take her back & leave her where they found her. The Finder refused to dump her & has tried to find her a home but has had no success. That’s where you come in – we need a rescue for this sweet, gentle soul! The Finder will transport her to you and is willing to get her spayed, if needed. The Finder’s 12-year-old son and young daughter named her Luna and adore her. She appears to be a Pittie/Lab mix with maybe some Staffie and/or Mastiff as well. She weighs 74 pounds. She seems to be potty trained. She hasn’t had any accidents when in their house and goes potty outside in one back corner of the yard. No food aggression or aggression of any kind has been exhibited. No signs of anxiety. Finder has not put her together with his dogs because they are high strung and aggressive towards other dogs, but even when they are barking at her and acting out aggressively, she does not react, remains calm and never barks back at them. She’s friendly with new people who come to the house and loves meeting everyone. She lets the husband pick her up and carry her around without issue. He describes her as “absolutely, without a doubt, one of the gentlest, sweetest, most obedient creatures I’ve ever met”. IF INTERESTED, CONTACT LESLIE AT 805-660-7176 or [email protected]
