My Story

ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13539 Meet Wyatt: Your New Best Friend! Howdy! My name is Wyatt! I'm a charming chocolate Labrador mix with a beautiful brown coat. At just over a year old and weighing about 55 lbs, I'm the perfect mix of energy and affection. Click here to see me running in a dog park! I may be young, but Im a big snuggle bug who loves giving kisses and leaning on my human. I spent most of my early months in a shelter before coming to OPH, so I have a solid training foundation and am eager to learn more! Here are some great things about me: - SUPER Affectionate: I love being close to my people. - Outdoor Enthusiast: I enjoy being outside and exploring. - Fantastic Leash Walker: I'm great on a leash. - Smart and Obedient: I know basic commands like sit. - People Lover: I adore meeting new people. - Balanced Energy: I'm active but can relax at home. - Crate Trained: I'm comfortable in my crate and working on house training. - Quick Learner: I'm treat-motivated and easy to train. - Non-Destructive: Im not a chewer and behave well indoors. Click here to see me walking on a leash in Old Town Alexandria to this fantastic Taylor Swift song!! Because I'm still a puppy at heart, I'd do best in a home without young children. I'd also prefer to be the only dog or have a slow introduction to any furry siblings. Ready to make me a part of your family? I'm ready to shower you with love and be your loyal companion! To adopt fill out the simple online application at https://ophrescue.org Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. (OPH) rescues dogs and cats of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters in NC, VA, MD, and SC, reducing the numbers being euthanized. With limited resources, the shelters are forced to put down 50-90% of the animals that come in the front door. OPH provides pet adoption services to families located in VA, DC, MD, PA and neighboring states. OPH is a 501(c)(3) organization and is 100% donor funded. OPH does not operate a shelter or have a physical location. We rely on foster families who open their homes to give love and attention to each pet before finding a forever home. All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
