This purebred Golden is the true definition of a gentleman - he is lovable, easy going, calm, sweet and very well mannered, so why can't he find a forever home? Yes, there are younger "spring chickens" dogs available, but Wooley says he's a true gem who is already trained in every way and he's just waiting here to find his forever person. The joy about senior dogs is that they are appreciative, ready made and offer everything that is good about having a dog without any of the work!
Wooley gets along with other dogs just fine, is housebroken, okay with kids and easy to walk. He would make a lovely companion to someone who enjoys the company of a dog, without the high energy demands of a youngster. Being a senior, he has some arthritis and may need some overall "vet maintenance" in the future as any older dog might.
Wooley is overweight currently, so a gentle exercise program with an appropriate diet would do him good to live a longer, healthier life! Also, if you're interested in adopting a Golden, please research their high grooming needs and ear care because those are necessary to keep Wooley looking his best!
Please be advised that our dogs are strays, so we do not have any background history on them. To meet any of the dogs, please visit the Vancouver Animal Control Shelter (VACS) at 1280 Raymur Avenue in Vancouver, or call 604-871-6885.
