Woody

Meet WOODY! Woody is a handsome and young Chow mix, around 18 months old and 50 lbs. His pictures just don't do him justice! Just wait until you see him in person! He's an incredibly handsome pup with a truly unique look from his gorgeous reddish-brown fur and beautiful amber colored puppy dog eyes to his cute, perky ears that are as soft as velvet! Woody has an upbeat personality and is always smiling. He loves taking walks, running around with other dogs, and tossing his rope toy around in the yard. Woody is a very smart cookie! He has been engaged in an intensive training program at our rescue and he is doing fantastic! He already knows the commands "no jumping", "look", "leave it", "sit", "down", "stay", "come", and "wait". He takes treats easily and politely and walks well on a leash. Woody loves his meals and may protect his food bowl, so he has been working on "food bowl modification which is just a fancy way of saying that theres no need to protect your bowl because we (humans) will give you lots of delicious food! He is doing great with all of his training and is ready to find his forever home! His ideal home is one with a person or family with older children or an adult only home that have some dog experience and is willing and able to continue his training and work with him by providing him with strong leadership and direction as we know he already thrives in this type of environment. In return he will shower you with gratitude! Our trainer and volunteers love Woody, and we only want what is best for him and want him to succeed, so whoever is lucky enough to adopt this special guy will have the full support of ARF to help transition him into his new home! Woody is crate and house trained, neutered, UTD on all of his vaccines and ready to start a new chapter in his life with YOU! Woody is located at our rescue in Terryville, Ct.
