Meet Woodrow, a charming and affectionate young Velcro heeler with a heart full of love for his favorite people. Always ready to be by your side, this handsome boy is ready to be the perfect addition to your life. Woodrow is a fast learner—especially when treats are involved! He knows basic commands and is excellent on a leash. Woodrow loves a long walk or a good play session, but he is happy to snuggle up on the couch when the day winds down. He is not a bouncing off the walls type heeler! He has an off switch. He's house-trained crate-trained and interacts well with other dogs. He’d be great as an only dog or with other dog friends. Since he seems to have a high prey drive, a home without cats and other small animals and without children would be best for him. We're excited to find him a forever home that will nurture his growth through patience, consistent training, and daily adventures. He loves his people but is suspicious of strangers. He requires slow introductions and would prefer not to be petted by them. We do not think an apartment, condo, or other dense living situations would be a match for him. He currently weighs 41 pounds and is approximately 2-1/2 years old. When he came to us, he tested negative for heartworms. We’ve had him treated and he is now on heartworm and flea prevention.
