My Story

This easy going, adorable little man is Wallace! He and another dog came into the pound when animal control received a call for help. An elderly disabled woman, unable to walk or care for them, had them abandoned at her house by a family member who was not doing well in life. They were so skinny and neglected it was heartbreaking. Wallace was so tender and sweet from day one, and was so desperate for love from people and the opportunity to snuggle. A fantastic volunteer ended up meeting this boy and was eager to foster him until he finds his forever parents! Wallace is approximately 2 years old and weighs a happily thick 43 lbs. He came in weighing 28 lbs and was very very skinny, so he’s been enjoying his meals to the max and is so happy to feel full and healthy! He has gone to the vets and has since had all of his medical work completed. He is now fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, and is current on flea, tick, and heartworm preventative! He’s healthy and doing wonderfully! Now he just needs to find his dream home! In his foster home this boy has been a total love bug. It was immediately clear that his true passion is his humans. He lives with cats and is totally fine with them! He also lives with other dogs though he doesn’t have a strong desire to play with them. He gets a little nervous around large dogs, though is very relaxed around pups his size or smaller. Truth be told he’s just a guy who is more of a humans dog than a dogs dog. He’s totally fine with dogs but he’s not a dog who longs for dog companionship or has a big play drive with other dogs. He’s more dreaming of a real man or woman’s best friend! He’s awesome in the car, excellent in the house, he’s truly such a fun guy to have! He will be happy to be by your side on anything you do! He’s so happy to be a cozy house dog. He absolutely loves to play with his toys and most of all loves to snuggle up on the sofa with his foster parents! He’s great in walks and has been excellent going potty outside. His dream home would be with a parent or parents who really want a best friend and baby. You’ll be his greatest joy and he will be so happy every time you come home, carrying one of his stuffies in his mouth greeting you at the door with a wagging tail! He’s ultra intelligent and very devoted to his people. Whether your lifestyle means he would be hiking or camping, or staying home by your side when you’re doing yard work or grilling, either way he’s going to be right by your side as your best friend for life! He is active has the energy to do anything you’d like, but he’s also happy to just hang out on rainy days and snuggle. He absolutely loves playing catch with tennis balls! Wallace just wants to be someone’s bestest boy. He’s so eager to please and just wants to be the apple of your eye. He’s a great medium size, easy to have by your side, whether snuggling in bed or riding by your side in the car. His heart is heavy as he clearly feels an emptiness not having his people to devote himself to, he truly can’t wait to be a part of a family!
