My Story

This boy was groomed today and he is looking good - snowy white! Wizard is a Bichon Frise, 7 years young and just under 15 lbs. he is UTD on vaccinations, preventatives and has been neutered. He is working hard at potty training and only has 1 or 2 accidents a week - a huge improvement since arriving in his foster home about 10 weeks ago. We have a potty call outside every 4 hours during the day. He wears a belly band during the day and doesn't mind it. Wiz likes being outside in the yard and sniffing everything in sight. He is a good eater and will entertain himself by rolling his ball with dinner in it, dropping pieces of food as it rolls. He will occasionally play with a toy but is usually very laid back and naps often. Wiz is beginning to join us on the sofa in the evenings. He sleeps the night (8 or so hours) with Maggie in their bed (no belly band) and has never had a night time accident! I do crate him when we leave the house as he is curious and gets into things he should not. Wiz enjoys a short walk whenever his person will take him. He may start out pulling the leash but then settles into a nice pace. He will usually "leave it when commanded. He knows his name but does not yet come when called. He is learning to allow touching/petting by me but no one else yet although the groomer said he was a good boy today. Wiz continues to develop and is learning how to be a regular ole dog. It's hard to overcome 7 years of being in a kennel with little to no love or human touch but Wiz is working through it. He will do well in a fenced yard, someone with a firm hand and LOTS of love and patience. A passive canine sister would be nice too.
