She’s charming, smart, and enjoys training. She is blossoming in foster care after spending several months in a shelter. Between chasing balls and going on leisurely walks, Winnie enjoys spending time with people and giving hugs whenever an opportunity arises! Unlike most dogs, she actually likes the mail carrier. She does great walking on a leash with a harness and doesn’t pull – unless she sees a squirrel! She normally takes her time, enjoying the things she sees along the way. She also values a comfortable spot to nap. Winnie Mae thrives on companionship and would be happiest with an experienced person who can be with her as much as possible. She is a strong girl, so a home with small children would not be a good fit as she can be a little jumpy. With some training, she will learn to turn her happy energy into good manners when greeting people. Winnie Mae will be an only pet. She gets overwhelmed around other dogs, and for good reason. She was picked up in a wooded area with tell-tale signs of having been a bait dog. This poor sweetheart has been through a lot, but she’s becoming a normal, happy dog. She still needs time to overcome her past, but with your support she will get there. A true companion dog, she’s very friendly and caring, satisfies easily with a game of catch, and is a great couch cuddler. Imagine the joy and love she could bring to you and your home.
