To know Winnie is to love her. Although still a puppy, already she has depth and composure that belie her age, and a demeanor of steadfast devotion and calm understanding. She is what we would call a very honest dog.
Long-backed, and so lean as to be on the border of "skinny", Winnie is deep chested with a very clean tuck-up, and slender, refined legs. Her ears are rather long; her beautiful amber eyes are flecked with green, and in their direct, solemn and warm gaze one can feel the love and trust that fill Winnie's heart.
It has been a challenge to guess Winnie's breed combinations, but her short personal history has been graced with the love we would wish for every dog. Plucked from a very hard-scrabble subsistence by a caring little boy, Winnie has known only respect and tender care. The individual responsible for raising Winnie did not have the means to keep her, but what she may have lacked in financial resources was more than supplanted by love.
Consequently, Winnie' entire demeanor reflects this security; she has a capacity, and an earnest wish to bond. She is gentle, sweetly affectionate, and undemanding. She is observant and responsive, stable and open.
Winnie is housetrained, and meets people and dogs happily and expectantly. She is calmly accepting of the day's schedule and activities, and arranges her own little checklist around opportunities to lie softly at her caregiver's feet.
The adopter(s) who meets Winnie will find in her a nature that is as true, touching and caring as the story that brought her to Hedgesville Hounds.
