Winda is one of 6 female puppies, mixed breed, a little over 8 months old, and weighing 60 pounds, probably something like Anatolian Shepherd, but we're not sure as they all look a little different. Winda is brown, maybe what I would call Sable, with white markings . She has a curly tail, one blue eye, and this makes us think she has some husky mixed in. She is affectionate, will come to you, put her paws up asking to be petted, However, she isn't as trusting as we would like to see. These pups were 5 months old when they arrived at Pet Allies and not all of them were well socialized as young pups. She is gentle natured, loves toys and is good with other dogs. Adoption fee $75 can be waived for the right home.
Foster notes: Winda prefers to spend most of her days outside, playing with her littermates. She especially likes Mica, who resembles Winda. As her foster, at this time, I feel Winda would do best in a home where she has a doggie door, can come inside to get out of the weather (hot or cold) and still spend as much time as she chooses outside. She has a wading pool and a mister currently as well as lots of shade trees and 5 other pups her age to play with. She is fearful of a leash and collar. I do feel someone skilled and patient at working with shy dogs could work with her she would be more trusting. I have posted a photo of the 2 girls together with Winda on the left, with the blaze on her face and shorter white feet. The girls would be excellent 'alert' dogs, letting you know if strangers are approaching.
