My Story

!!Due to current regulations, dogs belonging to rescues and shelters in DE can't leave the state if they're already in it, or enter it if they're outside of it. This regulation is in place until 8/13/24 (at least). Please keep this in mind when applying to adopt. Dog Name: Wilson Breed: Mixed breed Sex: Male Age: 4 Weight: 45 Medical Needs: None Housebroken: Yes Crate trained: In his current foster home, he is not crated and has not been a problem in the house. Good in the car: Loves his car rides. Good on a leash: he's great on a leash enjoys his walks. Energy level: Low Need a fenced in yard: Not if he has the proper amount of activity being walked on a leash or is engaged in play. Foster has been working on recall with him. Foster takes him to work and Wilson is not on a leash or lead and comes when called. Dog Friendly: Absolutely! However , he likes his space when he is eating. Suggesting separate feeding area. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No Wilson does not need another dog. He would love all the attention to himself. Cat Friendly? He does not seem to mind them but he has had interest interest in the squirrels and rabbits so should be monitored Kid Friendly: Yes If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Any age with proper supervision. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Wilson is lovable and adaptable dog who's ready to find his forever home! He's great on a leash and enjoys his walks, even showing his happiness with a smile. Wilson's calm demeanor and his affinity for car rides where he simply dozes off, highlight his easygoing nature. He seems to get along well with other dogs and isn't bothered by cats, making him quite versatile. His love for belly rubs and lounging on the couch shows he's ready to relax and enjoy companionship. Wilson is timid and can get scared easily when he hears loud noises and will curl up next to you when he is scared. Wilson's resilience despite his past as a street dog on a college campus speaks volumes about his potential to thrive in a caring environment. Once Wilson gets comfortable with you and gains your trust he is very easy going. He will be by your side like your best friend and will always be curious where you are going, what you are doing, and always checking up on you.
