My Story

08/16/07 Willy is a 5 month old reddish brown and white Bassett Hound puppy. Willy was very much loved by his first family and they were quite upset that Willy had to leave, but allergies in the home prevented them from keeping him.

Willy has a marvelous personality! He is very curious and friendly - he LOVES children, and was in a home with 2 active boys and a toddler. He loves to "cuddle" on the couch. Willy is an excellent housedog, and will make a wonderful addition in his forever home! Willy was neutered on Monday, September 3, 2007.

Update - Willy has been adopted!

09/14/07: Update on Willy from his new parents

Willy is so sweet, and much more docile and laid back, than what we expected. He listens VERY well. He and Daisy are figuring things out, and he has taken up tagging behind her. She goes out, he is right with her. He knew what the doggy door was all about. He goes out without Daisy and explores the yard on his own. It has been amazing to see his reactions to sounds out in the woods, that we are sure, he hasn't heard before. .

We have been trying to keep them on a schedule. They are doing basically the same things around the same time each day. Eating, sleeping, and of course PLAYING! In the beginning, I think Daisy was jealous, and couldn't figure out what was going on. But now, I think they are both figuring out their places. They are a HOOT! We have laughed so much at them. For the most part, they play really well together. Especially, when they want to turn the toy basket upside down. Then it is team work!

They will not go outside in the yard and chase each other and play. Like kids, they do it in the house, where it is cool. This is good for Daisy, as it keeps her from just laying around being lazy. They are so funny when they just stop running, lay down, and start boxing each other's ears. Then they rest, and they are back at it again. They have taken over the bedroom/office, as their playroom. After they have a little wrestling match, they lay on the mattress and just gaze out that window, until they are tired of that. Then it's on to something else.

Willy is such a sweet boy. He persists in being wherever we are. Wherever one of us goes, he is going to be right with us. He doesn't want to be alone. He is however, a little EXPLORER and SCAVENGER outside.

Well, as you can see from the pictures, they both are rotten, already. You can be assured, he is being loved and well taken care of by our family, and always will be. He is really special addition to the family. Thank you for everything you have done for him.
