Willy is a great big baby, about 1 yr old, that thinks he is a lap dog. He gets along with the children, dogs and cat at his foster home. Willy will need a lot of room and extra time grooming. He has short hair and is dry mouthed (yippee, no slobbers).
His name is Willie and we think he is a Saint Bernard mix. The good news is that he didn’t inherit the slobbering gene. ;) He is about a year old or maybe a little under a year. He is super sweet and loves attention. Willie gets along great with our other dogs, our cat and our human kids too. He was pretty under weight for his size when we got him a couple of weeks ago, but has been getting extra rations and is starting to bulk up a little. I haven’t weighed him, but I would guess he’s in the neighborhood of 65-70 pounds now. He will continue to fill out and I think he’s still growing. The weather has been pretty nice since we started fostering him, so I don’t know about the “fair weather” thing. He does enjoy drinking from the garden hose if that is any indication. I would say his energy level is medium/medium-high at this point, but I think he will mellow more in the next year or so. He does not like electric motors (vacuum cleaners etc.). They told us he was not house trained, but he hasn’t had any accidents since we brought him home.
Willy came to us not housebroken, but his foster family is training him and he is doing well. The adoption fee of $250 includes alteration, ID microchip and registration, current vaccinations, free vet exam, and coupon book from Petco!
