My Story

They said that she needed to be the only animal in the home. But that couldn't be further from the truth. Willow was just hurting and afraid. If you've been following us for a while, you know that most huskies don't do well in shelters. It tends to shut them down or make them reactive. That's exactly what happened to Willow. She came to us as a young stray, just over a year old, with an old wound on her foot that was slow to heal. She struggled with the presence of other dogs at the shelter, but the staff noticed a different side to her with people-she was remarkably easygoing and loved to be admired. That inner light of hers was unmistakable. Willow is a big, sweet, goofy girl who loves to cuddle and play. She enjoys interacting with the other huskies here at the rescue, though she prefers to avoid conflict, she will defend herself if necessary. Tomorrow marks her one-year rescue-versary! It's time for Willow to find her forever home. This sweetheart loves sunbathing and would thrive with a family that enjoys adventures. Who out there needs a hiking partner? Willow is currently located in Oklahoma at Husky Halfway House. All H3 dogs are adoptable anywhere in the USA (excluding Hawaii and Alaska), and we can transport them straight to your door with an approved application.
