My Story

*** AVAILABLE ONSITE ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY OR BY APPOINTMENT ONLY - email [email protected] to schedule *** Meet Willow, a sweet and spirited dog with a heart full of love. Willow does not seem to be able to hear and also has bilateral microphthalmia, which affects her vision as she is likely only able to discern areas of light or dark. With that being said, this little dachshund is able to navigate her world just fine - she eats well, loves treats, likes to ride in the car, can go up and down stairs unassisted, and enjoys chewing on bones without bothering the furniture. Willow is doing well on her housetraining and prefers the freedom to run loose in a securely fenced yard. She manages short leash walks. While in her foster home, she managed well with five dogs of various ages and sizes, but she would probably thrive best as the only dog or with a companion of a similar size. Willow is a relatively quiet gal, but likes to use her voice when playing with other dogs or if she needs your attention. Because she is not highly visual and cannot hear, Willow can be a little toy- and food-possessive at times, and would probably do best in an adult-only home. Willow does well entertaining herself with her toys and afterwards she is ready to snuggle. This gal is hoping for a patient and understanding adopter, as she is truly a sweet dog who is ready to shower her new family with affection and joy!
