APPLICATION LINK TO COPY AND PASTE INTO YOUR BROWSER: http://www.redroseanimalrescue.org/application.asp From the Foster: Willow is an approximately 6 year old, Shepard/Husky mix. She came to the rescue from Yakima in February with her two puppies. She was likely dumped while pregnant, delivered her puppies outside in the wild, and unfortunately, most of the litter didn't make it. She was very timid with people, but a very sweet mom. As the puppies have grown, seeing how much Willow enjoys playing with them, it's the time she seems happiest. Willow is uncomfortable around new dogs, but we are unsure if that's for herself or to protect her puppies. Outside of barking at other dogs, she has exhibited no aggressive behaviors. Willow is completely housetrained and crate trained. She prefers to sleep in the crate with her front paws and nose outside. She doesn't get into anything at night. Willow is a dog who keeps her own company. Besides needing to be let in and out, and being fed, she doesn't need/seem to appreciate much attention. If she's laying down, she will tolerate being petted. If you are sitting on the floor she will approach and sniff you, and then give you a wide berth. She is more comfortable around women than men, she likes kids most of all, but has only been around ages 7+. When very comfortable, she will take squeaky toys from you and place them in her crate. At present that's the most "play" she engaged in with people. Willow loves being outside but doesn't like walks. She will require a fenced yard. She is a very low maintenance pet. Now that her puppies are grown, Willow needs a patient home that will allow her to settle into her new role as a pet and not just a Mom. It's clear that at some point she was a beloved pet, and after being abandoned she needs time. With patience and love she will absolutely thrive. Willow is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped. Willow is currently being fostered in Tumwater. If you are interested in meeting Willow, you will need to travel to the Foster's location in Tumwater. Willow's adoption fee HAS BEEN SPONSERED. An approved application and an appointment is required.
