My Story

Willow is a beautiful 1 year old female Treeing Walker Coonhound. She was surrendered to the shelter on 02/03/24 after her owner abandoned her with his exwife. She unfortunately works full time with three smaller dogs and did not have the capacity to own a high energy hunting dog. Willow is great with new people and most dogs (an introduction to any dogs in the house will be required before adoption). She unfortunately needs help with training but does know how to take some commands like sit. She loves food and will calm down immediately for a meal but has struggled with dog on dog food agression when being fed with other house mates (simple fix is to feed the dogs separately and work on training). Willow desperately needs a foster or adopter to help soothe her shelter anxiety. She has known living in a house with other dog friends for the majority of her life and being at the shelter is stressing her out. Unfortunately she cannot spend time with our other residents and that is upsetting her. Willow would love to join an active outdoorsy house hold who is dedicated to training and stimulating her. She is up to date on vaccinations but has not been spayed. Apply online at valleyshoreanimalwelfareleague.org and we will reach out with further details.
