Willie-Fostered in MA

Meet Willie! This handsome 6 - 8-year-old has been enjoying his time with his amazing foster family and his foster Mom can't say enough about him! Read her wonderful description of life with Willie: Willie is not a barker unless there's a serious issue. He's gotten used to us being away at work, but he always has a very despondent look when we leave. When we return, he is joyous! It's a great daily welcome. Willie is middle-aged but is always up for playing catch, tug of war, or chase me. When we are busy on the computer, he lays down and leaves us be unless he really needs something. He sleeps quietly at our bedside every night, all night. Willie plays so very gently; we can tug on a toy and even put a hand in his mouth. He enjoys hiking up the mountain every morning and is learning not to pull. He's fine around other dogs and occasionally will find one he wants to greet or play with. We tried him with my horse last week, and he pretty much ignored it (my horse loves dogs but is very calm and gentle around them). Willie knows Sit and Stay, but since he always wants to be next to us, come has not gotten a proper test. Lay Down is still confusing to him. He's fine visiting the pet store and parks, fairs, etc. He has chased cats and a nasty chihuahua. I don't think he's fond of in-your-face puppies, so an adult dog would be a better housemate for Willie. He also enjoys visits from a teenage neighbor who comes over to feed Willie and play with him. Willie is up to date on his shots and ready to meet his forever family.
