Whistler

Meet Whistler! He is a 2-year-old male Border Collie mix weighing about 45 lbs and came to us as a stray from California. He is extremely sweet and loves attention and love from his people! He can be a little shy at first but opens up very quickly to become a super friendly dog. He does well with other dogs and would make a great 2nd dog in the home. Border Collies need an active family as they are smart and inquisitive. He would love a home in a suburban or a rural area where he can have a fenced yard to run and play. Whistler can redirect on his handler if he feels stressed out, so he will need a very experienced handler who can read his queues clearly and give him the structure and patience he needs. He is extremely treat motivated and has learned to sit, lay down, and spin in both directions in our care. He also rides well in the car and will hop up in a car kennel with ease. We recommend a quieter neighborhood and home as loud noises scare him. He is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $500.
