My Story
Meet Whiskey!
(Or his nick name in his foster home has been Mr. frisky whiskey!)
Whiskey is currently 4.5 months old, born 3/20/24. Weighs in at 22 lbs of pure puppy love. He is an American Staffy Mix.
Whiskey has the powers of being a very fast learner with crate training, potty training, door manners, car rides, and has mastered sit while using his puppy dog eyes to get what he wants.
He hasn't met anybody he dislikes, including kids & the elderly. He is a true people lover kind of dog, and has been getting along great with other dogs, older and younger!
He takes direction/correction very well, but also isn't afraid to give correction if he is uncomfortable either. He hasn't shown any signs of resource guarding with humans or other dogs. He is still unsure about his feelings toward a leash (likes to try to chew on his). Fireworks are his enemy, but only if he is actually outside when they're going off, when he was inside, he was perfectly fine!
He has learned that his crate is his safe place, he eats every meal, sleeps in his crate with his blanket & when we are not home, with no accidents.
We have had him in our home for over a month now fostering him, and he's only had maybe a hand full of indoor potty accidents, all within the first few days of having him. He's getting better everyday! He has been slowing learning to use the bells on the back door to tell us he needs to go out. As long as he gets very regular, routine potty breaks he should remain accident free and be on his way to being fully potty trained.
Some of his favorite things are bones, stuffed kongs, and any kind of toy he can get his paws on! Especially the stuffed ones, he loves to rip those to shreds! He is very food motivated which has been helpful in training him & will be helpful to his future adopter(s).
If you're looking for the sweetest little
Lover boy who will greet you with full body kisses every time you walk in the door and loves snuggling, then Mr. Whiskey might be your perfect match!
Whiskey is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. His adoption fee is $300.00.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
