My Story

Wellington (also known as Wellie) is an 8.5-year-old corgi mix. We adopted him from the Seattle Humane Society in December 2016, when he was 1.5 years old. Wellie is very much a people dog--he enjoys being close to his humans and likes being petted and cuddled. He has a goofy little personality--he'll periodically get the zoomies and hilariously race around the house, and it's also not uncommon for him to roll around on his back and snort just because. Wellie enjoys spending time outside in nice weather and loves walks, but does have some intermittent leash issues (mostly barking at other dogs--this could likely be overcome with more regular practice). He's also very content taking a nap on the couch or in a dog bed in the sun, and is accustomed to sleeping on the bed with his people at night. Some other things to know: Wellie cannot live with or be around small children. He has lived peacefully with another dog since we adopted him but has a very big personality, so a meet and greet with any existing pets would be important. He takes watchdog duties very seriously and will alert you to deliveries, noises outside, dogs walking by, etc, so apartment living probably wouldn't be the best fit for him. He has allergies and is on medication year-round to manage them. Wellie has been seen regularly by a veterinarian for the entire time we've had him and received all recommended vaccinations. After the bite incident in September 2023, he had a full medical evaluation, including blood work, and received a clean bill of health. ** Please contact Chris Guizlo at [email protected] if you are interested!
