Local adoptions only in the St. Louis / Metro East IL area! Walter was living on the streets of Madison, IL for a few years. We saw a Facebook post about his sad life and decided to help him. It was a two week process but we were able to successfully trap him and bring him into our rescue. We love this big boy so much! He is the best dog and is so sweet and well mannered. He is also very laid back, calm, quiet and so easy to care for. Walter is an American Bulldog, likely mixed with an arctic dog. He is so beautiful with the softest fur! He gorgeous eyes will melt your heart! He is approximately 6-8 years old and weighs 90lbs. Walter does well with dogs and cats and is house trained. He does NOT like to be crated but does very well just free roaming the house in our absence. He also has slight separation anxiety when his favorite person leaves the house but settles pretty quickly. He typically just wanders around looking for Brian and gently whines for a few minutes. Walter requires a secure fence, no exceptions! He lived on the streets for a few years and may be a flight risk. Although now, he is a total house dog and LOVES the comforts of home! We are not sure how Walter is with kids, but feel he would be great with older kids. Walter’s adoption fee is $150. This includes neuter, vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and treatment, dewormer and maintaining heartworm prevention while in our care.
