My Story

4-5 Year old Shepherd/Husky Mix Walter is a high energy dog that is going to require a lot of attention and discipline. He is a little miss understood, but it's not his fault. Walter came to us from our local animal control after being hit by a car and found injured. Walter had a lot of issues and we sought out the help of a trainer. Unfortunately training wasn't what he needed. He needed meds to help his brain function. A few months after we got Walter his owners surfaced and revealed that he was exposed to methamphetamine as a puppy and that most likely affected his brain development. He now has severe anxiety, panic attacks and no attention span. Those issues however do get better when he is in the same home for a long time. He needs stable home that is patient. He doesn't like change and we aren't able to take him to adoption events as it gets him too stressed out. He is very active and would make a great running or hiking partner. He does good with dogs, but is a very in your face dog and some dogs don't tolerate that. He can also get along with cats if they tolerate his never ending energy! He could make a really great pet in the right home!
