FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOMES NEEDED!! ***Please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form*** We would love to welcome Wally into the Fetch + Releash family on September 15, 2024 (subject to change). In order for Wally to come into our care, we need a committed family. As a foster-to-adopt family, you'll be expected to take him home on his arrival date. You will then have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until their new forever family can be found. Each bio was created by our rescue partners based on their interactions with the dogs. Fetch + Releash has a full disclosure policy however we cannot guarantee a dog against parasites or diseases, nor can we guarantee a dog's nature/behaviour. Many of these dogs are coming directly from the shelter and so you should expect there to be a transitional period. Be prepared to deal with common issues like potty training, leash walking, and socialization. Cat and kid safety assessments are often based on their personality and not necessarily on actual interactions. Where possible, the majority of vetting will be completed prior to coming to Canada, however, foster-to-adopt families may be required to travel to our partner vet in Mississauga, ON for further vet care. During your foster-to-adopt trial, you'll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit. Foster-to-adopt families will be expected to provide their own supplies. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wally / Male / 1 year / 34 pounds / Golden Retriever Mix / Great Family Dog / Good with Cats / from Tennessee Introducing Wally! This little guy was scooped up and rescued from one of the most awful kill shelters in the community we help in Tennessee. We were told he came from a neglect case and it breaks our heart that this absolute sweetheart has endured so much bad in his short life. Wally was moved to our partner farm for a brief time before landing in a rare foster home. He is quite the character. He loves to talk, play hide and seek, as well as imitate you. Got a limp? He lifts his paw and pretends he does too. He is sure to provide great company and endless laughs. He has been dog, cat and kid tested and does great with everyone. In his foster home he lives alongside a cat and gets visits from his fosters great grandson. He is truly a sweet soul. We think his best doggy match would be one of the same mild temperament vs an in your face energetic dog. He would likely do wonderfully alongside a sweet senior. This boy absolutely loves affection and is always up for head scratches and belly rubs. And if you don't have a dog, or a big family and you are just looking for that awesome sidekick and someone to talk to...Wally is your guy! He will even chat back to you. It's not known what he is saying but it is quite comical and you will have a riot. No dull moments with this guy. Wally is house trained, crate trained and fairs well on leash. It's expected he may have a couple accidents as he adjust to his new home and routine. These are the only basic commands he knows so far and will need further training with obedience and other fun tricks. He is eager to please and is sure to be an incredible companion to whoever puts the time into him. Due to his size Wally should fit into any home but he is known to be vocal in the sense that he loves to talk and bark through play. If living in a condo or apartment this would he something to take into consideration. Wally has stollen the heart of everyone he has met so far and there is no doubt he will continue to do so. He is what his caregivers and rescuers are dubbing a jackpot dog on top of his adorable exterior. Apply today, you aren't going to want to miss out on this extraordinary little fellow. If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Wally's adoption fee is $850.
