My Story

Wally is about 10 years old and 60 pounds. Wally was adopted 6 months ago and it was going so well, they loved him and he loved them. He especially loved it when the grandson came to visit. Due to a terminal medical diagnosis for the adopter, Wally is back with us in temporary foster care and needs a new foster home or foster-to-adopt home. Wally gets along with humans of all ages, just as ready to play as he is to settle down and cuddle. He would do great in a multi-generational house. He alerts to new people, and he might look tough, but it doesn't take much to win over this big lovebug. Wally likes to take his time on walks, enjoying all the wonderful smells and sights. On longer walks, he and his foster parent have a compromise where Wally gets to sniff at his leisure for the first half, then they pick up the pace for the latter half. This pup is perfectly potty-trained! He even understands the command to "do your business" in the backyard, and hasn't had a single accident at his foster home. Wally is a patient pup, and has been very cooperative with all sorts of indignities like grooming and eardrops. Wally is a very smart dog, and eager to please. Left alone, he generally does well with a frozen kong and space to roam, but he'd much prefer to be with people. He is not an off-leash candidate and should not be in a home with other small pets, but should do OK with a female dog about his size. If you are interested in fostering, adopting or just meeting Wally, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the Northern California. 8/2/24 1:40 AM
