My Story
In need of a special adopter! My name is Waffles, and I’m a unique, lovable pup with a few special needs. I am a 3 year old Pit Bull/Bull dog mix with lots of love and snuggles to give, however I have a few quirks. My vet thinks I might have had a brain injury when I was a puppy, which affected my neurological development. So, my body sometimes moves faster than my brain can keep up with. It makes me a bit uncoordinated, but it’s all part of my charm. My tongue is too long for my mouth and sticks out. Although it's adorable, it also means I drool. I don’t see very well, likely due to my past head injury. I can track objects when they’re thrown, but my vision is blurry both up close and at a distance. Because of this, I startle easily and might snap defensively if I’m surprised. I’m not aggressive; I just can’t see well enough to know what’s coming. Because of my poor vision, I don't do well around children or other small animals. I’m also food defensive. I eat separately in a crate because if someone tries to take my food away, I might get a bit grumpy.
Despite all these quirks, I’m a big ball of goofy love. I’m often called the “dwerpiest dwerp that ever dwerped.” I love napping on lounge chairs, cushy dog beds, and playing in the sprinkler. I go to doggy daycare every day at Bark Avenue in Republic, and I adore snuggles and belly scratches. I will need a home with a fenced yard and family who is patient with me. All in all, I’m a sweet, loving pup with a few special needs, but I promise I’ll bring a lot of joy and laughter to your life.
My adoption fee is $75 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip!
