Waffles

Waffles came to us after being found as a stray in a nearby town, so he's a man - well, dog - of mystery. He's started to reveal his winning personality to us here at the shelter, though, and we have no doubt he'll continue to blossom, especially once he gets into a home of his own and can bask in the love of his new family. Our vets guesstimate that he's around two years old, and he has a perfect mix of young-dog energy with the desire to chill. He'd love a good long walk, maybe even a hike, followed by couch time and maybe a movie. Pop the popcorn, pull out your copy of "Lassie Come Home" and you'll be set for a perfect evening. Waffles is feeling a bit stressed by kennel life, and given everything he's been through he's quite understandably a bit shy when he meets new people here at the shelter. Just give him a little time to realize you're looking to be his friend, toss some treats his way - we always have those on hand - and in a little while he'll start warming up. His favorite snack is cheese! Waffles has enjoyed walks where he is free to sniff around and take everything in. He is a big fan of watching the world go by! We think Waffles could be a good fit for a home where any children are at least six years old, and we'd like to introduce him to everyone here at the shelter. Ditto if you have any dogs at home, since we don't know how he feels about having canine friends.
