Waffles

Waffles / M / 1Y / 17lbs / Jack Russell Chihuahua mix / Fostered in Toronto Waffles is a true extrovert. He loves lounging with his foster parents while they have their morning coffee and watching TV on the couch in the evening. He also loves to meet other dogs in walks and playing with dogs close to his size. His fosters describe him as sweet and easygoing, affectionate and adaptable, and say that, in the morning when he’s feeling sleepy and calm, he loves to come up and say good morning by laying on your chest with his arms stretched forward in a little “hug.” He loves to wiggle on the couch - in a burst of energy, he’ll parkour - or relax in a sun spot or in his crate. He also loves food but will not beg while his humans are eating. Waffles is house trained and will lay in his crate with the door open. He walks well on leash and is medium energy. He is currently getting 2 30-45 minute walks a day. He is working on learning his name and basic commands, and is learning that he can’t climb on the table or counter (which he doesn’t do for food, but for parkour activities). He does have mild separation anxiety and will whine and cry for a few minutes but will settle quickly. He does better if he is left free roaming and has been alone for 2.5 hours with no issues. Waffles is good when meeting new people and loves attention! He is great with other dogs and would be fine with respectful children. He has not been a cat tested. He would be fine in a house or apartment but would prefer to have someone who is home often or can take him with them to work. He also loves adventures and car rides.
