Vinny

This six pound Chihuahua cross is a tiny treasure. Exceptionally smart and a quick learner, Vinnie is a healthy and happy 10 year old snugly bunny who loves car rides, his daily constitutionals and giving big, fat, gummy kisses. Sweet Vinnie is now, sadly, toothless because his original owner never cared for Vinnie’s teeth. They were all so infected, every tooth had to be extracted. But being a gummy bear doesn’t stop our Vinnie! Vinnie gets along well with other dogs, respectfully eating with other dogs and he has no food issues. Vinnie knows basic commands and is housebroken. But, he does need someone available to let him out to do his business every few hours or he may have an accident. So, it would be best if Vinnie’s loving forever home provided someone home during the day. Once Vinnie trusts you, he is yours completely. But, on first meeting, Vinnie is nervous and self-protective, barking vigorously as he tries to escape under any table or chair. So, Vinnie’s foster Mom gave him the time and space he needed to feel safe enough to come to her…and he did. Within the first 24 hours, Vinnie became his foster Mom’s shadow, offering, yes, even kisses! With any new visitor, Vinnie goes through the same ritual of barking and retreating until he knows and trusts that person is safe. For only 6 pounds, he is quite the guard dog. Because Vinnie does share his opinions, he is not an apartment nor semi-detached house dog. And Vinnie is much too small for small children. Vinnie will be a loving and lovable companion for a retiree, a couple or with a family with older teens. Vinnie is neutered and up to date on all shots and, on he received an A health and personality report from the vet.
