My Story

Meet Vanna, a gentle soul with a heart of gold, eagerly waiting to steal yours. Despite her initial fear of people, Vanna's sweetness shines through, as she craves love and affection. With impeccable potty and crate manners, she's an ideal companion for any loving home. Vana is a Labrador mix and weighs 33#. Once she feels comfortable with her human friends, her true colors emerge, revealing her goofy and playful nature. However, she also enjoys lounging around all day and loves nothing more than cuddling up next to her favorite person. Vanna adores other dogs and would thrive best in a home with another dog, and older children who can be gentle and understanding of her needs. Approaching her first birthday, Vanna is eagerly awaiting a forever home where she can bring joy and laughter to her new family. It's important to note that due to Vanna's past experiences before coming to Take Paws, she may take a little extra time to warm up and feel comfortable around new people. However, her foster can attest that she's absolutely worth the wait! PLEASE READ BELOW: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt **Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, question, or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information. 2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals: Puppies under 12 months - $350 Dogs over 12 months - $250 *Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match! For additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets, see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq *Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as Pet Finder, and are no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.
