Uno has a very special place in our hearts at UCAC! He has been on the run and eluding us for well over 8 months. We finally got a call that he was laying in someone's shed but he had been injured. When we saw him and the softball sized abscess on the side of his head, we were in shock! He was lethargic, weak, unable to stand for over a few seconds, and not to mention terrified when we showed up to catch him. He was the absolute best boy because he knew we were helping him! He let us pick him up and place him in the back seat of the truck. he laid down quietly and slept the whole way back to the shelter. His abscess was so bad we couldn't hardly stand to be in the cab with him and all the windows were rolled down! After some much needed vet work and meds, he is like a brand new boy!! He has come out of his shell, he dances around when he sees us pull up and he cannot wait for his daily booty pats! He will still need someone with some patience as he shows obvious signs of prior abuse. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body but were sure if someone took him in and showed him what a real family is, he would be the protector of a lifetime! He wants nothing more than to sit directly on your leg/lap and turn around to smile at you! Due to his healing journey we have not tested him with other dogs. We personally think he would do fine with them since many have went past his kennel and he never makes a wrong move. Cats love to walk past his kennel an rub all over it and he doesn't seem to mind that either! His adoption fee is $300 and this will include his DAPPV vaccine, deworming, flea and tick, neuter, skin tumor removal (non cancerous), rabies vaccine, heartworm test and microchip.
