My Story

So loyal, obedient, easy-going and well-mannered, great with kids, mellow, one of the BEST BEHAVED BOYS. Say hello to the next addition to your pack, Tyler! This handsome boy is suspected to be a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier mix. He's around 29 pounds - mostly fluff, curls and love. We estimate him to be around 2 years old. Tyler is a rescue, so his exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. Fall in love with Tyler here: https://youtu.be/9XsAXoS9uRM Tyler is an all-around good dog. Our behavior team lead, one of the hardest people for a dog to please, absolutely LOVES him. He has an awesome temperament, he's great with other dogs - reading body language well and gently disengaging when he's uncomfortable without an ounce of aggression. Tyler is great at sharing toys and treats with other dogs, he's just an excellent dog for other dogs to be around. Tyler is also great on leash, no lunging, pulling or jumping from him. This handsome young boy is a gentle treat taker, exceptionally smart, and has great house manners. With kitties, Tyler is simply disinterested. He was cat-tested here at the rescue; his cat test is included in his video for your viewing pleasure! He would do well in a home with cats. With kids, Tyler is such a gentleman! Tyler did well with a 3-year-old and a 10-year-old here at the rescue. He wasn't bothered by loud noises, or lots of hands on him. He simply appreciated the love from the little ones, remaining gentle even in his excitement. Tyler would be such an easy dog to take just about anywhere. He loads up into the car with no issue, and heads straight to the window seat to get a good look the world passing him by. He does so well on leash and greets strangers with such love and attentiveness. Tylers perfect home has at least one human to call his own, and he's not picky about anything else. He could peacefully coexist with doggy siblings, kitty siblings, or human siblings. He's small, quiet and calm enough to thrive in an apartment or condo. He would appreciate walks and exercise to keep him healthy and happy, but this boy is pretty low maintenance! Just an easy-going guy looking for his forever home! We are willing to test Tyler with anything you need us to in order to ensure he's the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you've found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog's needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn't stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: - 30-day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) - A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx. $25 weekly for an 8-week course of one session per week) - One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan - 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan - Coupons for a fun visit to Petco - Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 6-year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
