From her previous home: Maya is a typical puppy with medium energy with occasional spurts of extended energy, but calms down quickly in the house. She is a real people-dog and loves to go up to all for attention. She likes her squeaky and chew toys and has mastered the Kong. She is eager to please and loves to lay on our bed and sleep. She'd sleep next to our heads on our pillows with us if we let her. She can be real lazy in the morning. She can get a little mouthy as puppies do, she does not chomp and does not look to hurt, she is getting better about it. She loves to try to crawl up into my lap and lick me to death. She will kiss like there is no tomorrow if given the chance. We are working on housetraining and we've gone for over a week without incident, we are still trying to figure out her signal to want to go out so we are diligent with getting her out. She will bark to go out and barks to come in, which is good. Once outside with me, I can tell her to pee and poop and she will, almost on command....but not always. She will come to me and sit right in front of me with the tail going like crazy wanted to know what we are going to do next. She likes to ride in the car and will lay on a passenger's lap or just want to lick your face and ear. She loves attention and is craving it more everyday and would be on the furniture in your lap if you let her. She is learning what it is like to be a dog. We have been working on leash walking and there is still some work to be done. She's learned not to be scared and has moved into the pulling stage and has been doing well learning. Right now she weighs about 25 lbs and is just over 5 months old. She looks like a lab with a mix of possible terrier or Italian Greyhound. She can run, that is for sure. She has her rabies shot and and is up to date on her heart worm. She has a good appetite and has no issues with aggression with food. She also takes treats very gently. We have rabbits and she tries to lick them through the cage. We share fences with neighbors who have dogs and she loves to run up to the fence to meet the neighbors and other dogs. She loves kids, but can get a little rough with them because she is so excited. We've been working on that and she is better. Notes from our partner shelter: This T-litter was turned into the shelter at about 4 weeks old. They are now old enough to be available for adoption. We no longer think they are going to be large dogs, as at 4 mos old they are still weighing in at about 8-12 lbs each. That means at adulthood, they will probably only be medium sized dogs at best, and perhaps a couple of them will still remain on the large side of Small. They LOOK like labs but will not be the size of one when grown.
