Toupouch-adopted!

Toupouch is available for adoption once again. His family loved him dearly but was allergic!! I had the great pleasure of meeting Toupouch on the weekend and feel that he may have some shiba inu and maybe a little Jack Russel terrier in him due to his size, colour and shape. He is not very big (maybe small side of a medium dog), but he is an extremely beautiful little boy and so gentle and playful.

Toupouch got his name as he was considered to be "a homely, half wit not worth 2 pouches of tobacco"...then we get to meet him and he is the cutest, brightest little boy...he will be a real treasure to any family lucky enough to adopt him.

Toupouch is 100% mixed breed and he was rescued from laronge 4 days ago...up until then he lived a strictly outdoor life so he is finding the comforts and warmth of indoor life a wonderful thing. He is working on housebreaking but is doing well. He has more of a slight build and will probably be a medium sized dog when full grown. He loves to play with the pups and is VERY SWEET, and very gentle and loves any type of affection you give him. He is very eager to please and loves to be where I am. He is a comfort seeker so the second my back is turned he is up on the couch snuggling in! He is still very unsure of your 'intentions' so sometimes when approached he does cower or belly up? But each day his confidence grows. He was out for his first walk on a leash this morning and did a great job...and he really enjoyed exploring the park down the street! More info will come as we get to know him better.. Please note that all puppies are required to take an obedience class. A spay/neuter contract plus deposit is a requirement as well. Definitions:

Pending - means that we are working through the adoption process with the 1st applicant. We usually don't add the pending until we are pretty sure the adoption will go through (like at the home visit stage)

On Trial or Trial Visit - means that the dog is in their new home for up to 2 weeks before the adopters need to commit to keeping the dog. We want to make sure that everyone is happy with the new living arrangements! We allow this option for everyone except very long distance adoptions (too far to drive).

Adopted - you know!! A happy ending for a homeless dog. We try to let everyone know when we have the final word. Within about 24 hours, the dog's bio will be moved to our happy tails section!
